Our Sunday School Goal is for the church
as a whole to help raise up strong Christians for tomorrow. Life
skills, unity, intergenerational interaction, ownership &
responsibility for solid Christian education are possible if everyone
contributes to the Sunday School program.
A core group of Sunday School leaders along
with volunteers lead the children in worship. Numerous people
in the congregation have offered up their talents to teach the
children a variety of skills, (Woodworking, model planes, crafts,
music, baking, hiking etc). This will allow your child to meet
and interact with more people in their church community.
The workshop rotation model that we are
using is a journey that may have detours and bumps along the way
but will help us reach our goal. We cover fewer Bible stories
but uncover more about them and how they relate to the lives of
people today. Bible Basics cannot be reinforced enough and we
will try to keep it as simple as possible. Real learning can be
fun!
Workshops that are demonstrated are examples
of how simple and meaningful everyday skills can be utilized to
enhance Biblical truths for the children. Biblical concepts drive
the workshops. Learning is integrated with real life situations.
This workshop rotation model affirms that
each child is unique and has God given gifts. Each child learns
in a different way, each has different capabilities. At First
Grantham we strive to meet your child in a meaningful way that
is best suited for them.
Each person in the kingdom of heaven is
given a certain number of gifts and opportunities to serve God.
We can either waste these opportunities out of fear of failure
or invest them in a way that furthers the kingdom. It is our privilege
to use the natural and spiritual gifts given to us by God. You’ve
probably heard the expression “ If you don’t use it,
you’ll lose it.” God entrusts us with our talents
so that we will choose to use them, not just hide them away.
We invite you to join us for a morning
to experience how lively and fun Christian Education can be!
